Information you provide
You may provide a display name, optional profile photo, product photos, product and brand names, categories, barcodes, batch codes, dates, prices, notes, ingredient text, storage locations, favorites, and care-reminder details. These records are stored in the app’s local data store unless you deliberately export or back them up.
Camera, photos, and on-device processing
Camera and photo-library access are used only when you choose to scan or photograph something. Native Apple Vision and image-processing frameworks may recognize barcodes or text and isolate a product from its background on-device. VanityFresh does not upload personal product photos to an advertising or analytics service.
Notifications and location
If enabled, local notifications remind you about estimated product dates, recall matches, and cleaning routines. Storage-heat checks may use Apple WeatherKit and location-derived weather information after permission is granted. Permissions can be disabled in iOS Settings.
Network requests
VanityFresh may contact Open Beauty Facts for barcode information, openFDA for public cosmetic recall information, Apple WeatherKit for weather conditions, MapKit for recycling searches, and Apple StoreKit for purchases. These services receive the query and technical information necessary to answer the request and operate under their own privacy terms.
Support
When you email support, your email provider sends the message and anything you deliberately include to support@heric.net. Privacy-aware diagnostics exclude product names, photos, notes, dates, notification contents, and exported inventory data.
Exports and backups
CSV, PDF, local backup, Files, and iCloud Drive actions occur only when requested. Exported files may contain personal collection information. Their storage, retention, and sharing are controlled by you and the selected destination.
Analytics, advertising, and sale
This version contains no third-party advertising SDK or remote behavioral analytics service. VanityFresh does not sell personal information. Limited usage events used by the app are stored on-device.
Retention and deletion
Local information remains until you edit it, delete it, delete all app data, or remove the app, subject to device and backup behavior. Restoring a backup can reintroduce previously saved records.
Security and children
VanityFresh relies on iOS security protections and reasonable safeguards, but no storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. The app is not directed to children under 13.
Changes and contact
This policy may be updated as features or legal requirements change. Questions or privacy requests may be sent to support@heric.net.
